About Us

SJFWA Logo. The San Joaquin Fine Woodworkers Association (SJFWA) was established in 1983 and celebrates the art of fine woodworking.

We provide numerous education opportunities to satisfy a wide range of interests through meetings, contests, events, and workshops to develop woodworking skills.

Wooden toys.Through our annual Toy Production effort, we create and give children from low-income families a very special toy during the holiday season. Our effort began with 250 handmade toys, and we now produce nearly 6,000 wooden toys a year!

Production of toys begins as early as May and ends with final distribution in early December. We are fortunate to have developed a good relationship with numerous quilting guilds that handmake individual quilts and pillows to go with our baby dolls and fill hundreds of doll cradles, which are quite popular.

With 125 members from Fresno, Tulare and Madera counties, the SJFWA prides itself in giving back to our local communities while sharing the joy of woodworking.
