San Joaquin Fine Woodworkers Association (SJFWA)
Celebrating the art of fine woodworking!
Our Mission
The SJFWA promotes education on the principles of woodworking and the development of woodworking skills through lectures, discussions, workshops, field trips, contests, and classes. Our membership includes woodworking enthusiasts of all skill levels from beginner to seasoned craftsperson.
Monthly Meetings
We conduct monthly meetings in members’ shops or a local conference room. These meetings alternate between the northern and southern regions of the Valley. At these meetings, we encourage an open exchange of information about wood and woodworking methods and provide an opportunity to share experiences, ideas, techniques, and the mutual enjoyment for creating with wood. Visitors are welcome to attend our monthly meetings to learn about us first-hand.
Newsletter
The SJFWA produces a quality newsletter which is distributed to members bi-monthly. Current and past newsletters are available for review on this web site using the menu choices above.
Toy Program
The SJFWA sponsors a program that has produced many thousands of wooden toys which are distributed to local charity organizations and eventually to disadvantaged children who might not otherwise receive a holiday toy.
Volunteer Organization
The SJFWA is a 100% volunteer organization, and its continued success is dependent on the participation by all members. Members can choose to participate in a number of areas consistent with their experience and comfort level.
